Policy & Procedure

It is our intention to provide clients with professional and therapeutic services. The following policies and procedures serve as a guide for first-time and repeat clients.

Arrival to Your Massage

Please arrive for your appointment at least 5 minutes prior to the scheduled starting time. Please arrive at least 10 minutes early if you are a first time client, a brief intake form is required for all new clients. Each massage has a specific time schedule, early arrival allows for a relaxed and unhurried experience.

Cancellation Policy

Please provide at least 3 hours notice if you need to reschedule or cancel a treatment. If a client fails to cancel within 3 hours, the full price of the service may be charged. This is out of respect to the therapist who has planned their schedule around their appointments. It is also out of respect for fellow clients who are looking to schedule appointments

Late Arrival Policy

Late arrivals may not receive extension of scheduled appointments. In special cases, and when schedule allows, an accommodate may be made. This will be at the therapist’s discretion. The original reservation fee will be charged.

No Show Policy

Understanding that unanticipated events occur in everyone’s life. Unforeseen events such as car problems, business meetings and family illnesses, are just a few reasons appointment cancellations may be made, however please call if you cannot keep your appointment. Clients who no call no show for a scheduled appointment may be charged for the missed appointment. You may also be asked to pre-pay for future services.

Informed Consent

Prior to each massage session, the individual treatment plan for the session will be discussed with you. At your first visit, you will fill out a health intake which will require your signature. Your signature verifies that you agree to Stone Creek Massage Therapy policies and procedure and that you consent to treatment. Your signature also verifies that your health intake is correct, that you have read the information on the intake, understand it, and agree to comply with it and the Stone Creek Massage Therapy policies and procedures. Clients that have not been seen for at least a year will also be asked to fill out this form.

Scope of Practice

As a Licensed professional that is held to the highest standards by the state licensing board and membership requirements of the AMTA (American Massage Therapy Association: Our therapist do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions. They may refer you to a medical doctor for diagnosis. Their services are not intended as an alternative for proper medical attention when it is needed.

Respect for Client Needs and Boundaries

Any adjustments in pressure, temperature, musical volume, suggestions to work longer on an area or move on to a different area are respected and followed if you request it. A treatment session can stop for a break or stop completely if requested. The clients comfort and well-being are a priority.

Draping

The client may choose to leave on as much clothing as needed for comfort, refuse any massage methods or stop massage at any time. The client will always be modestly draped. Only the area being massaged will be undraped.

Sexual Harassment

Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind between the client and the massage therapist is NEVER appropriate. The session will be terminated immediately and the client will be responsible for full payment.

Confidentiality and Conversation

All client visits and conditions are confidential. Your visit will not be discussed with anybody outside of our staff without your permission. Exceptions to this rule are guided by duty to warn, danger to self or danger to others guidelines.

You may choose to talk or not talk during the massage, either is acceptable. Conversation will be guided by the client.

Existing and New Medical Conditions

It is the responsibility of the client to keep the therapist informed of their health status and of any medical or holistic treatments currently undergoing, and to provide written permission from the treating physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, etc., if requested by the therapist. This may be necessary to continue the massage treatments. The client must also keep the massage therapist informed of any changes in health conditions. For clients undergoing chemo, radiation and any other serious or complicated treatments or therapies – Please note that we require a doctor’s note that states the doctor is aware of, and agrees to, the desired treatment.

Philosophy

It takes both the therapist and client working together to create a positive effect and reach desired outcomes. We will do our part to encourage health and wellness in each client that we work with. Our goal is to promote healing and relaxation through a holistic approach, leading those we work with to a higher level of wellness and improved quality of life.
