Reflexology

Reflexology is based on the theory that there are reflex points on the feet, hands, and head linked to every part of the body. It is a type of therapy that uses gentle pressure on specific points along your feet (and possibly on your hands or ears as well) to help you feel better, relieve tension and treat illness. It can ease stress and stimulate reflex points that can help your body work better. It’s also known as zone therapy.

The way reflexology connects spots on the outside of your body to the inside is a bit like acupuncture and acupressure but those therapies use points all over your body, not just on your feet, hands, and ears. While the reflexologists do use their hands, it isn’t a form of massage.

The therapist will start by asking questions about your health, what you eat, your lifestyle, and any conditions you have. Your answers will help them decide whether to work on your feet, hands, ears, or a combination of those. You might sit in a reclining chair or lie down on a table. You’ll keep your clothes on, but wear something comfortable so you can better relax.

The treatment will begin by gently smoothing oil or cream on your feet. Next, they’ll put mild to moderate pressure on one foot at a time using different techniques. Sessions are usually 30 or 60 minutes long. At some point, you might feel so relaxed that you fall asleep!

It triggers physiological processes that promote rapid body sculpting (Cryoslimming), tightens skin and can reduce face puffiness. This brief treatment can promote noticeable cosmetic improvements, and swift reductions in pain and inflammation—all without bruising, scarring, or downtime. Cryotherapy has been proven very effective for a range of issues. You’ll be amazed at what even a few minutes of cryotherapy can do for your skin and overall health!

Those who swear by them praise sea salt scrubs for their ability to get rid of dead skin gently, removing dullness and making you look and feel younger. Regularly getting rid of dead skin also promotes faster skin cell turnover, revealing a fresh. clearer, brighter appearance waiting underneath.

Salt scrubs work great on tough skin like your elbows, feet and heels. These are excellent places for a salt scrub — the scrub will work over those dry areas and restore your skin.

Sugar scrubs are good all over because they're gentle and will soften your body and face.

Wraps can be done on hands, feet or back and are used for various reasons. They can remineralize, hydrate, stimulate, detoxify and promote relaxation, to name a few. The products used will determine the effects and results. The use of Body Wraps dates back to ancient Egypt, Rome and Greece.

Qi Gong

Qigong practitioners believe the Qi that course through our entire being must flow properly, like a river. If there is a block, Qi becomes stagnant and prevents other parts of the body from being nourished. If the Qi flows too rapidly, it causes degeneration or exhaustion of the internal organs. Qigong helps to balance these energies, filling deficiencies and removing excess. Receiving a Qigong treatment activates acupressure points, meridians, and organ systems, according to Traditional Chinese Medicine. Therefore receiving Qigong can be similar to a powerful acupuncture treatment.

A Qigong treatment is done by activating pressure points over clothing. A tool may be used to increase activation. These tools may consist of precious metals, or stones (silver, gold, brass, jade, etc.).

Sometimes called guided imagery or visualization, with this method of meditation you form mental images of places or situations you find relaxing. Sress is a modern epidemic! Guided Meditation is known to relieve stress. It is a very beneficial exercise that gently introduces you to a healthy stress relieving practice. Typically, our thoughts are all over the map, during a guided meditation practice, you train the mind to stay put. Because the mind has a tendency to wander where it will, many of us find it easier to focus and relax when our minds aren’t entirely left to their own devices. This form of meditation is often led by a (real live) guide that encourages use of as many of the five senses as possible, such as smells, sights, sounds and textures. This process can be combined with other treatments for a complete mind-body experience.

It involves tapping key acupressure points (acupoints) on the hands, face, and body with your fingertips while focusing on uncomfortable feelings or concerns, and using positive affirmations to neutralize those feelings.

Research suggests that tapping can relieve stress, diminish cravings, improve performance, and even help relieve of post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It is an alternative treatment for physical pain and emotional distress. It's also referred to as psychological acupressure.
